The Pictures are In!!!

Well we had no major break downs for the photo shoot but somehow I had two very serious babies for most of the time. I tried everything, from silly voices to jumping up and down. We still had fun and love how they came out. Enjoy!!

Photo Shoot with Twins

A photo shoot with a baby can be tricky but with 2 babies it’s even trickery. We did a photo shoot of the girls at 4.5 months old the day after Thanksgiving to get some cute pictures and also to get a picture for our Christmas card. I knew this task can be a bit overwhelming so I enlisted the girl’s godmothers (my cousins) Shawn and Melissa to help out. Wow what a good idea!!! When trying to get any kind of picture with twins it’s critical to have an extra set of hands, or two.

As you can see to get two babies to look at you and smile all at the same time is pretty tough. But at least it makes for some funny outtakes.

So the photo shoot on Wednesday was for their 8 month pictures and for some cute Easter photos. This time my help came from my right hand man, my darling husband Sid. Two days before the shoot I was busy making tutus, necklaces and getting all the right photo props. Pinterest gave me all these great ideas for photo shoot poses and props but I have to remember that’s just with one baby and probably endless hours for that perfect shot.

I made sure we had a plethora of props, carrots for my little bunnies, Easter eggs, spring chicks, and of course some Peeps!!

Well after being as prepared as I could be it was now up to the girls. I was keeping my fingers crossed that Zoey wouldn’t have a melt down like last time. I lucked out and no melt down but also not so much in the smile department. I had very serious babies that morning. I’m sure they know I’m trying to get them to perform or do something. I was the one performing though, singing silly songs, funny voices. Anything to get a smile. Oh well they were still super cute!!!!

Tomorrow morning we are doing pictures with the Easter bunny. The Santa experience was pretty easy. The girls were 6 months old and just went along with someone holding them. Now at 8 months they are much more reactive to people and places. So a big white bunny holding them might invoke some terror and shock. I think it will first be shock “what is this thing” followed by terror, “why is it holding me”. Either expression should make for a funny photo. Or maybe a cute, fuzzy, funny bunny just might be enough to plaster a big smile across their faces. A mom can dream, right!

I can’t wait to post some of the pictures once I get them back!!! Stay tuned!

Day at the Zoo

Image

Well today we went to the LA zoo and had such a wonderful time!! I was a bit hesitant because I’ve never had to give the girls baby food in public, I wasn’t sure how it would turn out. We arrived nice and early at 10am and walked around while it was still cool and the animals were out before the heat. Then 11am rolled around and it was time to feed the animals, my animals that is. Found a nice little place in the shade and started to feed the girls. I distracted Zoey with a Mum Mum cracker while I fed Ella. It’s actually pretty easy and convenient with the baby food in those squeezable pouches. All this while the girls sat pleasantly in their stroller. I had a full box of wipes ready to go when it got messy and it did at a few points but nothing too bad.

You might think what a mundane thing to write about but for me it was a big accomplishment!  I have been weary about feeding the girls in public, because at home it can be quiet a messy production. A few months ago all I had to worry about was giving them a bottle and that was easy. Well with this new accomplishment it means we are going to be able to do many more things now. I’m not confined to their eating schedule at home!! The Getty, Griffith Park, Santa Monica Pier just to name a few outings in our future!!

I was feeling so mobile I even decided to go visit my Grandma and Grandpa at Forrest Lawn, it was the first visit for the girls. We would have stayed longer but their was a huge service (with lots of people smoking, weird I know you think you could hold off at a funeral) a few plots over and the heat was peaking at 12:30pm, so we kept it sweet and short.

Our first time was at the LA Zoo was a success. Such a success I got an annual membership pass, so we can go as many times as we like!!!

Crafting Bug!

I have always loved crafting and creating stuff, but it seems recently I’ve caught the crafting bug! It’s amazing all the tips, ideas, and help that are out there now. Thank you pintrest and etsy! I want to make growing up fun, lively, vivid, and exciting for the girls. A world full of excitement and joy, I might not be able to control everything in their world but I can make their world at home a bright and magical one just like my mom did for me.

So the projects I have in the works at the moment…starting with making the basic tutu for the girls, thank you Amber for giving me motivation! Then decorations for a St. Patrick’s Day party. Last but not least putting on a baby shower for my friend Hollie, and I’m trying to do all the decorations by myself. I also really want decorate the house for the seasons and holiday with decor I’ve created myself. Now I won’t be able to take credit for everything. I’ve found some awesome shops on etsy that have printables, which I take to kinkos have them print it up and then I get to the crafting.

Now while I’ve tried to write this post I’ve had 100 interruptions by the twins, which is ok, it’s just funny.
